lots of photography options there, so it depend if you want to take cityscapes and buildings photography, you need a wide angle lens, 16-35mm, 14mm...
if you will take portraits at the historic city "lots of interesting backgrounds there" you might need longer lens (24-70) could do the job, or even 85mm.

Travel Information

it is around 150km road trip from Riyadh, you can move by car around the area, in the historical town you need to walk, since the roads are not wide enough for the cars, the people are very welcoming and nice, better to visit at day time, respect the private properties.
