A popular coastal town with this abandoned jetty which is nice to photograph at different times of the day, seasons and light conditions. A 50 minute drive from Cape Town.

Photography Tips

Experiment with different compositions, Black and white photography and long exposures. ND filters and a tripod will be handy. Low tide is best.

Travel Information

A 50 minute drive from Cape Town by car, can also be reached by train. Next to the Strand Pavilion and swimming pool. Parking available at the spot.Loads of other spots around especially if you drive on the R44 to Hermanus along the scenic Clarence drive. Good for a day outing as some of the best beaches and restuarants can be found here.
