Spain Interior of Mosque side of Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba
As with many of the amazing Islamic architecture of Marrakech, the Mezquita is a modest building from the street but close up and inside it’s a wonder to behold, rightly a UNESCO World Heritage site. It was a mosque over 1000 years ago but it has been extended repeatedly over the years. It’s still one of the largest mosques in the world. After the Moors were driven from Spain, it was declared Christian and a cathedral was built in the middle of it. It too is an amazing site but you’ll wander around for quite a while before you even find it. When you do, you might want a longer lens to capture some of the detail.
Put politics and religion aside, go, take a tripod and a wide-angle lens and quietly go about capturing the beauty of this place while you still can.
