Spain Houses of Tossa de Mar
Tossa de Mar is located at the Costa Brava of Spain. Sometime in the 12th century the medieval town was walled off and a castle was built on the highest point of Mt. Guardí, this castle was to be subsequently replaced by a wind mill, and this in turn by a lighthouse which is still operational. The medieval town is a beautiful spot for sunrise or sunset pictures and provides an amazing flair.
Photography Tips
The place is very crowded during the daytime. In the early morning hours during sunrise you will meet a few people doing their sport routine. As it is located directly at the sea, it might be a windy. A steady tripod is recommended.
Travel Information
The parking situation in Tossa is rather poor. There are spots available but it requires some patience to find them. Best is to stay in Tossa over night and then walk. The "castle" is free as people still live in the houses behind the castle wall.
