The dunes of Maspalomas are a well-known spot in the south of Gran Canaria, Spain. They can be extremely hot during the day and still extremely cold once the sun has set, but it's still a stunning experience to cross them and they offer lots of great opportunities for photographers.
Photography Tips
Pay attention to the wind, the sand is very dangerous for cameras and lenses! Never change lenses here and if you use a zoom lens, choose one with internal zoom. You will experience heavy sand storms here. After your visit, clean all your gear immediately.
Travel Information
You can park near the RIU Palace Maspalomas Hotel and walk from the viewpoint into the dunes. There is also a bus going to that hotel. Near the viewpoint, there are many people in the dunes. Just walk a few hundred meters to the south and it gets less crowded.
