Spain The Elders

This picture was taken at the Parque Natural de Gorbeia in the Basque Country, Spain. This park is so amazing! I love it.

I was really, really short on time since I spent the morning in the lovely Laguardia which is 120Km away from this place and still had to travel from this place to sleep at Burgos, which is 160Km away. The days are really short in winter and although in Spain the the sunset is only around 5:30PM I didn't have much time.

It was time enough to do a short hike on the north side of the park. I parked the car at Bakearen Ama (Mother of Peace in English) and there we went into the beautiful forest following the track to Atxulo.

The path was really muddy and slippery but we managed to reach the place I was seeking - an area full of these ancient and gloomy trees.

I took some pictures and rushed back to the place where I left the car before the night fall.

Fall or winter will be your best seasons.

Park the car in the reserved place and hike to the place. Good hiking boots are required.
