Spain Edifico Metropolis, Madrid
The most Iconic spot to photograph in the whole city. The building on the corner of Calle Alcalá and Gran Vía, one of the neighborhood's landmarks, was designed in 1905 by the French architects Jules and Raymond Février for the insurance company La Unión and Fénix, although the final work was carried out by Luis Esteve from Spain. The Metrópolis building is one of the most important icons of the Gran Vía and was built between 1907 and 1910 when the first section of the Gran Vía was created, and officially opened on 25 January 1911.
Photography Tips
Blue hour is the best time to shoot this particular building, I used a tripod and a 4-second exposure while timing one of the buses passing by on the streets to get this effect.
Travel Information
Walking there is easier than driving given it is the heart of Central Madrid. Parking spaces are marked on the map.
