Spain La Sagrada Familia, Barcelona
The famous basilica was designed by Antonio Gaudi in Barcelona. Construction commenced in 1882 and is still yet to be completed. The latest estimate for completion is 2040 although this is said to be optimistic by some insiders.
Photography Tips
Get inside the Sagrada! And take some very good lenses with you and shoot with high ISO. Schedule your visit (reserve tickets on the website) for an hour before sunset. The cathedral lights up like a prism. Near Christmas, the lights from the windows align perfectly with the walls, but stunning year-round. Beware - Tripod use is not permitted so bring a monopod.
Pre-purchase a ticket otherwise, you may not be able to gain entry.
Photographing details of the interior can be rewarding, however, cranes and scaffolding on the outside may detract from the overall visual appeal.
