The Risco de la Mérica is a towering peak above the beaches of Valle Gran Rey in the southwestern part of La Gomera. On the edge of the cliff, you find two "summit flags" which symbolize the hippie cult of the island.

Photography Tips

Place a person close to the flags to give your photo a personal character. Make sure to have a fast shutter when the wind is strong so that you have a sharp image of the flags themselves.

Travel Information

The hike follows along old farmers paths until the cliff summit. The hike in total will take you around 1:30h. You will need to "climb" around 150m in height before the path leads you down another around 200m in height.
