Cala Llebeig is a small bay along the coast between Valencia and Alicante. It was a popular landing spot for smugglers, which is why the coast guard built a permanent post in the 1830‘s in order to control this part of the coast. This remote place can only be reached on foot. The buildings are now used by fishermen.

Photography Tips

Wide angle lens and nd filters needed. To get the whole bay on the picture a panorama shot is needed. For the panorama I used 7 shots at 18mm (APS-C)

Travel Information

Cala Llebeig can be reached via a 1 hour cliff walk starting from Cala Mallaig or quicker (15-20 minutes hike) from the designated parking at Cumbre del Sol. From the parking follow the hiking path towards the sea. The path is pretty rough, so decent shoes are a must. You also need a head torch if you want to go for sunrise.
