Tozal Solitario is a beautiful sandstone in the Monegros desert. There are quite a few of these natural structures in this region, making a great theme for many photography types.

This spot is perfect for drone photography because it allows you to get a different perspective. Staying late can also be really nice because this place is great for nightscapes.

Travel Information

You can arrive near the location by car. A 4x4 is recommended though since it's a desert with a rocky road.

Wow. this looks truely amazing. It reminds me of the Bisti Badlands in New Mexico, USA. I could imagine to capture the night sky there if the light pollution is low in that area. Do you know if it is allowed to camp there?

I think you can camp :D Perhaps there's a little light polution, but the scenary is cool...otherwise you can work the light pollution and minimize it in photoshop :) We were there on winter, and is a cold place...we couldn't stay at night...is desertic weather...only stayed at night in Tozal de la Cobeta and it was hard

Thank you for your quick response Pep. I might visit this place next year end of April during the new moon phase. Travel plans are not fixed, yet. But as there are many other good spots around and also some more on the north western coastline, this could become an interesting round trip. :-)
