Home to one of the most famous monasteries in Europe. Located high in the Montserrat mountains, it offers the great view of the surrounding towns. There are also walking and hiking tracks to the mountains around. Very recommended.

Accessible by train from Placa Espanya in Barcelona. Stop at Monistrol de Montserrat station, before taking the funicular train uphill. It is suggested to buy the combined ticket from Placa Espanya.

If you find yourself in Barcelona with time to kill, the easy train to Santa Maria de Montserrat is well worth your time. If you can time it just right, you'll be treated to a performance by L'Escolania, the boys choir as well.
