Spain Monumento a las Siete Sillas
This monument is composed of seven granite monoliths that symbolize the legend of the Seven Chairs of the Roman theater of Mérida.
Before the magnificent Roman theater began to be excavated in 1910, the only visible of such colossal construction was La summa cavea, or final stand, which was the only part that was exposed.
From that final part of the stands only the seven concrete cores that formed the interior, with the appearance of a seat or a chair, were recovered. These seven elements were popularly known as The Seven Chairs.
