This royal site dates back to the 7th century (dates as early as 300 BC are also mentioned) but was deserted and only discovered again in 1937 and clearance completed in 1945. It’s part of a small complex that included a hospital. The main attraction once housed religious relics and has pillars arranged in 3 concentric rings. It’s in a reserve with plenty of exotic wildlife and worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Photography Tips

Just wander about trying wide angle and telephoto from various locations. It’s a temple, so take your shoes off before climbing the steps up to the main temple ruins.

Travel Information

Go by car. There is a large car park a few hundred metres away. If you're quiet on the walk in, you’re likely to see quite a lot of local wildlife.
