A deserted mountain fortress rising up over vast plains in the heart of Sri Lanka's Cultural Triangle area. Stunning ruins with 360° views of the surrounding jungle and lakes. Beautiful medieval frescoes along the climb route.

Photography Tips

Get there early 6am to get the best light. Once the sun is up, ND filters will be essential. The climb up is hard work and the climb is in the shade in the morning. Go in the late afternoon to catch the sun hitting the rock from the park entrance but forget about the climb up.
