Sudan Pyramids of Meroe

Impressive site in the desert, appr. 200 km north-east of Khartoum/Sudan close to the village Bagrawija.
it once was the capital kingdom of Kush and today we can find mostly ruins of the nubian pyramids and only a few are well preserved.
Due to the polizical situation in Sudan it is difficult to visit the site, but if you get the chance, it is a stunning experience.

Be aware of the temperatures (40°C and more) and the usual dust and sand issue.
But with some precautions it might be no problem for using digital cameras.

The best way to get there is to book a guide in the capital Kharthoum. There are several agencies that offer reliable guides and transport. Usually it is a day-trip and other sites, such as Naqa can beeasily included in the trip.
