Svalbard & Jan Mayen Islands Trollsteinen
This vertical rock formation sits on top of a sharp ridge line in Svalbard's vast wilderness. In Winter snow and ice completely cover it, creating this imposing yeti-like structure at the top of the mountain.
Photography Tips
If you go in Winter like I did, be sure to bring a wide angle lens, preferably one with a very low F-Stop, given the low light conditions at that time of year.
Travel Information
You can only hike to this point, and it is a brutal hike in the snow. Incredibly tiring. You will also need to go with a guide as the spot is out of town limits.
