Sweden Slåttdalsskrevan (Höga Kusten), Skuleskogens Nationalpark
Slåttdalsskrevan is a 200-meter-long, 30-meter deep, and 7-meter-wide passage that divides Slåttberget into two parts. It is the influence of the sea that has formed the crevasse. The slightly weathered diabase passage has been eroded, while the surrounding rock, consisting of red Nordingrå granite, has been preserved.
ATTENTION! Slåttdalsskrevan has been closed to hikers for safety reasons since 2023. However, there is a path around the crevasse with viewing and photo points.

Photography Tips
Use a wide-angle lens to make the canyon look bigger. Take elevated photos from the top or the bottom of the passage. You can also use leaves and rocks as foreground.
Due to the light conditions (you always have harsh light and deep shadows), take a tripod and use auto exposure bracketing for HDR (high dynamic range) or DRI (dynamic range increase) photography.

Travel Information
Höga Kusten: Take the south entrance, "Entré Syd," just north of Docksta, and turn off the E4 highway here. Follow the brown tourist signs to a parking lot where you can leave your car and start hiking. You can also start from Skuleberget if you want a slightly longer hike.
From the parking lot to the gorge, we needed about an hour.
Attention - this is not an easy hike, and you may need to climb. I recommend getting the latest information at the Naturum Höga Kusten. They have a map of the trail options.
