Switzerland Eiger Nordwand

After starting at "Kleine Scheidegg" (look for the spot there!) the train will disappear in a tunnel very soon. 2.865 m above sea level it will stop for about 15 minutes inside the tunnel at the staion "Eigerwand". You can leave the train there and look outside the tunnel. You are just in the middle of the "Eiger Nordwand" (Eiger North Wall) an you can look up and down those very steep rocks. This wall is one of the most difficult walls to climb in the alps and many people have died there when they tried.
If you are brave enough (I'm definatly not) you can try to climb a few meters down and up again aided by a guide ....
The windows you can look through once were made to dump the rocks they had to remove when they built the tunnel. Now you have a perfect view to the mountains and the landscape around. Unfortunately the windows are not opend but there are plastic sheets you have to look through. And the plastic sheets are scratched by stupid tourists. That is why my pictures show so mny scratches .....

There are no special tips to be given for photography.
But be aware that you are moving in high mountains. You always need sunglasses, sun protection for your skin, good shoes to walk around and good warm clothing. It is always windy up there and much colder than in the valleys.

You can reach this spot only by using the Jungfraubahn (or climb up the wall at yourself ;-) )
