Switzerland Säntis
At 2,501.9 metres (8,208 ft) above sea level, Säntis is the highest mountain in the Alpstein massif of northeastern Switzerland. It is also the culminating point of the whole Appenzell Alps, between Lake Walen and Lake Constance. Shared by three cantons, the mountain is a highly visible landmark thanks to its exposed northerly position within the Alpstein massif.
Photography Tips
Take as much (wide, long, tripod, filters) as you are prepared to carry. A tripod should be stable as it tends to be windy up here.
Dress warmly if you stay for the night.

Travel Information
Cable car from Schwägalp or hiking from Wasserauen, Brülisau, Wildhaus - check for the many possibilities to stay the night. If you go on a hiking trail make sure you wear decent gear. The top area is very steep and exposed so some experience is needed. Also, check weather forecasts as rain/a thunderstorm is very dangerous up here.
