Switzerland Papiliorama - Butterfly dome

If you love butterflies and exotic plants, and are into macro shots, this is an interesting place to visit. Better not on a Sunday, will be too crowded. Better during the week. Freshly eclosed butterflies are released twice per day, shortly after opening and around 1pm.

Lighting is okay, but not always optimal. Zoom lenses with high aperture are a good idea as you won’t have the butterflies directly in front of you all the time. Keep in mind that there‘s jungle-like temperature in there, so make sure not to wear too warm clothes, and lens changes should be done outside the dome in normal temperature.

By car or by train, there is a parking lot nearby. The location has it´s own train station.
