Switzerland Kronberg
You love to shoot "above the clouds" pictures but the Säntis is too crowded? Look no further and visit the Kronberg. Not as high as his "big brother" he's still providing an awesome skyline and a wonderful view to many parts of the northeastern Switzerland, including the Lake Constance.
Photography Tips
If you're going to Kronberg for shooting "above the clouds" pictures (preferrably late autumn) i'd suggest to get there as early as possible. The first cableway leaves the tracking station at 8am. Most people going up the mountain at this time are only interested in the breakfast at the top, so you won't have any/too many hikers around disturbing you while shooting.
I'd suggest you bring a tripod if you feel uncomfortable holding the camera while shooting panorama pictures. The wind up there can be really nasty!

Travel Information
When you go up early in the morning, you won't have problems finding a parking place nor a long queue of people waiting to enter the cableway. If you prefer to sleep late i would suggest to go there (Jakobsbad, see parking symbol on the map) by public transports, either from Gossau oder Appenzell. On a perfect day for shooting the free parking places disappear quicker than a icecube in a Volcano!
