The lion monument is located in the center of Lucerne and, in the allegory of a dying lion, commemorates the Swiss guards who died on August 10, 1792 during the Tuileries storm in Paris. The inauguration of the monument, hewn out of a sandstone rock and measuring around ten by six meters, took place on the 1821 anniversary. It is one of the most famous monuments in Switzerland, annually it is visited by around 1.4 million tourists. In 2006 it was placed under Swiss monument protection.

There is no requirement for a Tripod here unless you want to capture moving people. A simple camera kit should be enough.
