The moon is rising between the Dent Blanche and Cervin (Matterhorn) . Rare moment.

Photography Tips

Moon photos are not so easy. The best are in the blue hour when you have some details in the background.
This photo was taken with a 400mm lens. Of course, you need a Tripod. I use a very useful app to know the exact moment and the place in the horizon where the moon rises .its name is "Photo Pills".

Sacha, the photo is from July 28, 2021. I don't think the exact date will be very useful to you because the variations of the lunar cycle make them not coincide. I allow myself some suggestions to achieve your goal: 1-Inform you on full moon days. 2-Inform you of the moonrise time on the horizon (it is not useful if the moonrise is at 3 AM.) 3-help you with applications that facilitate this calculation, for example, "photo pills" that with the augmented reality tool allows you to see the trajectory of the moon. Another useful application is photographer Ephemeris "TPE" that shows you the trajectory on the map. 4- Finally the weather forecasts. It took me 3 years to achieve those matches. I wish you luck and abnegation. Photogenic greetings

Hi, thanks for your answer. Yes I know photopills quite well that's why by typing in the date and location you were at. I'm able to what alignement we're talking about. Didn't know about the TPE, will have a look. I know the augmented reality tool but you have to be on spot to use it :/ And yes I know about waiting for months, years. And getting there and covered by cloud ^^ You live in Switzerland? Valais?
