Switzerland Furggelen

Furggelen is a small alp in the Mythen area. From here you have a great view of the Mythen peaks. The sun sets behind the mountains, creating beautiful light.

Small tripod comes in handy during sunset

In winter the place can only be reached with snow shoes or touring skis. From Brunni (Alpthal) you can get to Furggelen starting at the lower parking (550m ascent, roughly 1.5 hours) or via Holzegg, where you follow signs for Furggelenstock (2.5 hours from Holzegg but great panoramic views) and then descend to Furggelen. Take enough drink (no restaurant in winter) and dress warm. The place is exposed so it will likely be windy. Take a head torch if you plan to stay for sunset!
