The hike from Rotenboden station to Riffelberg station is a must. It goes past both the Riffelsee and a smaller lake, both superb locations for reflections of the Matterhorn. This photo was taken from a little further down the track.

Travel Information

Gornergrat train from Zermatt. Visit the summit station first, then take the train down one stop to Rotenboden station and do the hike (nearly all downhill) from there to Riffelberg station to pick up the train again.
