This is one of the most special places in whole of Switzerland. At a height of around 2.600m the old glacier is melting - hence loosing ice into the glacier lagoon. With the beginning of late summer, you will find this glacial lagoon as one of the most extraordinary places you will ever see!

Photography Tips

Bring your full gear, even though it might be a strenuous hike up there. You will want to stay forever and take shots from all angles possible.

Travel Information

This hike is challenging and only recommended to experienced hikers! It´s considered a T4 hike with only some marked points as soon as you get to the last stone moraines. Parking is free at Ristorante Albergo All´Acqua. The covered height of this hike is around 1.400m if you want to make it to the summit of Chuebodenhorn. From there you will have the best views. Please consider bringing a helm due to loads of loose rocks after the snow melted.
