Switzerland Bergstraße, Lungern
I would like to give away my personal favourite spot to fellow scouters here. Lake Lungern is a natural lake in Obwalden, Switzerland which is named after the town Lungern on its shore. The lake is drained by the Sarner Aa river, which flows through the Sarnersee and into Lake Lucerne.
Photography Tips
Arrive here early even though no one else will be here, to capture a glimpse of the sun rays hitting the alps and then falling on the lake. Beware that this spot is located on a road and please expect local traffic, Be responsible and safe on the roads while capturing your compositions.
Travel Information
The best way is to reach the town by car since the town is directly on the highway A4 Brünigstraße. From there, you could just start your hike to this spot. Please note that you could still drive to the spot but cannot park anywhere since the spot is directly on a street. Another picturesque way is to take the Panorama Express from Interlaken Ost towards Luzern and get down at Lungern and then hike a bit.
