Switzerland Muottas Muragl
It’s here that, a hundred years ago, the Canton of Graubünden’s first-ever panoramic mountain was made accessible to tourists by cable car. The maiden journey was on 9 August 1907, with the cable car covering a distance of 2201 metres and an incline of up to 56%. The first passengers were left breathless and, presumably, they remained so when they first caught sight of the views from above.
Muottas Muragl overlooks the Engadin, between the towns of Samedan, St. Moritz and Pontresina.
