The Wat Mahathat Ayutthaya is a buddhistic temple ruin in Ayutthaya, central Thailand (about 2 hours north of Bangkok).
In 1767 Ayutthaya was conquered by Barmar people who destroyed the temple almost completely in search of treasures.

Photography Tips
Bring a wide angle lens and a tripod with you if you can. The hole area gets a magical look in the soft light of the evening hours.
There is was a fee of about 1 EURO (back in 2012) to enter the area, Audioguides seems to be available nowadays.

Travel Information
We stayed at the Krungsri River Hotel. From there you can easily get there by bike or tuktuk.
