Thailand The Great Holy Relics Pagodas
The Great Holy Relics Pagodas is a gorgeous Pagoda (Temple) complex located in the Mountains of Doi Inthanon National Park. Due to its position, it works for both sunrise and sunset perfectly. It is the time of day that provides different results. It offers a great view of the landscape and on a clear day, you can see Myanmar.
Photography Tips
Make sure you get there early and have time to set up and watch what the light is doing. During Sunrise this is a hard place to capture because you have a bright sky and a dark foreground (Pagodas and Garden). Would suggest some kind of exposure blending techniques or ND Grad filters to capture the whole dynamic range. For Sunset it is a bit easier as the sun will illuminate the Pagodas quite nicely giving you an even exposure.
Travel Information
Not an easy place to get to for a visitor. If you are coming from Chiang Mai you have the option of a 2-hour scooter ride or hiring a taxi which will cost 2000 baht+. I would suggest staying closer to this location and getting transport from there. There is parking right at the complex. The National Park opens at 5 am but the Pagoda complex opens at 6 am. Make sure you bring warm clothes as it can get cold.
