Tonga Tsunami Rock
This 10 metre high boulder is an amazing 200 metres from the coast and arrived here via a massive tsunami estimated to be up to 35 metres high. The sheer otherworldliness and incongruity of the rock amongst these surroundings make it well worth visiting.
Photography Tips
This photo was taken on an old iPhone 4S, so picture quality isn't great - but it hopefully highlights how interesting this sight is.
Travel Information
Finding the rock wasn't overly easy and you'll need to get a bit off the beaten path to get there. As you can see in the photo, I rode a motorscooter to get there, which is off Liku Road near the village of Kala'au.
