You will need a telephoto focal length to take this view, I used 560mm on EOS 5D3. Tripod is nice to have, but not must have, as long as your system has some image stabilization.

Take public transport in the form of the tram lines or take a taxi here. The best photo spot is directly at the beginning of the bridge if you want to capture the sun setting behind the mosque.
