This lake and parc is close from Victoria lake and Kampala by driving. You can then go with small boats (small fee) into the swamp and see many birds and their habitat. A lot of kingfishers and crane but the main attraction is the shoe-billed stork (Bec en Sabot in French)

Photography Tips

You definitely need a minimum of 300mm, ideal is 200-400 and of course 500 or more will work but less practical to stabilize on a boat (get a monopod)
The place as lot of light so smaller and less expensive aperture lenses and zoom will work fine
