Ukraine Костел Найсвятішого Серця Ісуса в Чернівцях
Jesuit church in Chernivtsi. A monument of 19th-century Gothic architecture.
In 1940-1941, the church continued to operate, but was under the supervision of the NKVD. In 1945, the local government passed this Jesuit temple to Orthodox believers. A year later, the church was also selected from the Orthodox community.
The temple was closed for some time, and later it was decided to place the documents of the regional archive. As a result, much of the interior of the temple was lost.
The temple was returned to the catolical community in 2010. Now its reconstruction is in progress.
