Ukraine Aktove Canyon

Canyon near the Aktove village, on the Mertvovid river in the Voznesenskyi region of Mykolaiv Oblast of Ukraine. It is a part of the regional landscape park Granite-steppe lands of Buh. It is also a well-known place of pilgrimage. In the past it was a separate reservation "Actove".

Aktove Canyon consists of ancient weathered granite, cut by Mertvovid river on the depth of more than 50 meters. Area of the canyon outreaches 250 hectares. Being a unique complex of granite rocks, boulders and water/steppe ecosystems, canyon is located on one of the oldest parts of Eurasian land.

From Odessa it is best to go through Nikolaev, and then along the Southern Bug, through New Odessa and Voznesensk. At the exit of Voznesensk, in front of the church, the right flank. The road to the village of Tricratu is quite tolerable. In the village itself there is a wonderful landmark - the old road, paved with paving stones, is there for you. After about 10 minutes, the Arbuzinsky Canyon will appear on the right. We pass by, drive into the village. The main road turns left and after five minutes rests against the field. Right behind it are the most popular cliffs. The canyon itself is upstream. You need to go there through the fields and the primer. You leave the village, near the tractor base to the right, then along the field to planting - there will be a small passage through it. Further the road goes between the canyon and fishing line.
