Jebel Jais Mountain is the highest mountain in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is located in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK). The mountain is shared between UAE and Oman with its highest point in the territory of Oman.

Photography Tips

An ideal spot for night photography as this area is with much less light pollution. The winds can get very cold (especially during the winter time), hence be prepared accordingly. Also a steady tripod is advised.

Travel Information

The drive to the mountains of Jebel Jais is an experience in itself with winding roads and rocky mountains and valleys. There are parking spaces available nearby many viewpoints, though it can get crowded during holidays. Expect a drive of 2.5 to 3 hours from Dubai (approx 180 km).
