United Kingdom The Lloyds Building United Kingdom
The Lloyds building was designed by Richard Rogers and Partners and completed in 1986. It is described by some as a bowel building because all the services are on the outside. This helped it adapt when desktops, with their cabling and ventilation requirements entered the workplace. It was awarded Grade I listing, the same as Windsor Castle and St Paul’s Cathedral, just 25 years after it was build, which is quite exceptional.
Go there! It’s at the heart of the City of London, a matter of steps from Leadenhall Market, the Cheese Grater, the Scalpel, the Gherkin and the Walkie Talkie building, to name just a few.
