United Kingdom Steall Falls
Steall Falls is the second highest/largest waterfall in Scotland. It can be found at the end of a very scenic forty-five minute hike along the River Nevis. You can get a closer look at the falls if you cross the River Nevis on a three-wire bridge that is safe, if you take it slow and easy.
Photography Tips
Bring a tripod and be prepared for precipitation, even on a day that is clear when you start your hike. Even if you don't encounter rain, you will have to deal with moisture/mist from the falls if you decide to get up close with a wide angle lens.
Travel Information
Drive past the Ben Nevis campground and continue to the parking lot located at the termination of C1162. This is the trailhead for the Steall Falls hiking trail.
There are many B&B's in nearby Fort William, but I highly recommend Torlinnhe Guest House. Andy and Sue have excellent facilities and breakfast, and high-speed Internet for posting photos.
