Corfe Castle, located in Dorset, England, is a historic ruin that dates back to the 11th century. Built by William the Conqueror after the Norman invasion, it was strategically positioned to control the Purbeck Hills and the route through the Isle of Purbeck. The castle played an important role during the English Civil War when it was heavily damaged after a siege in 1646. Today, the ruins remain a striking landmark, offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and attracting visitors with its rich history and dramatic appearance.
