United Kingdom Prescott Hill
Prescott Hill is the UK home of the Bugatti Owners Club since 1929. They have a lot of events there but one, in July or August, is quite special: all sorts of amazing old cars are trying to drive up this winding hill climb at great speed and without damage to car or driver. The cars are just crazy, like the 24 litre W12-engined Bentley Napier, "the ultimate laxative". It’s a great event over 2 days and the drive there, through the Cotswolds, is an absolute treat. Just wander around and enjoy these mostly old cars in performance condition.
Photography Tips
Motorsport is best with a telephoto lens with image stabilisation but if you're just wandering about the paddock, admiring the cars, a standard or a wide-angle will serve you well.
Travel Information
Go by open-top car if you can and be prepared to get out often to take landscape shots. The villages on your journey will include a lot of chocolate-box England. For the race day, you might need to book on-line, they control numbers and it makes for a nicer experience for the lucky few.
There is ample parking but you need to pay.
