Lincoln Cathedral is a magnificent Gothic Cathedral which for 238 years (1311–1548AD) was the tallest building in the world at 160m / 520ft - taller than the Great Pyramid of Giza. The Spitfire photographs were taken during the 100th anniversary celebrations of the Royal Air Force, when a Spitfire of World War 2 was displayed in the nave as backdrop for a formal dinner.
