United Kingdom The Vennel and Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh
This is a very famous spot to photograph in Edinburgh, however, it's not a spot that you would just walk into. The Vennel (Vennel means passage) is essentially a lane. I would visit this spot either at sunrise or sunset times. If you go at sunrise, it means fewer people and you might have the place to yourself.
Photography Tips
Take a tripod and explorer different compositions, taking two steps left or right can make a big difference, especially here.
Travel Information
Local buses, by foot or by car. If you drive, you can park nearby and take a walk here, depending on the time of the day. If you approach it from the Grassmarket end, look out for the narrow lane with steps going upwards at the end of Grassmarket.
