United Kingdom Tulip Stairs, Queen's House, Greenwich, London
A classic example for a twisting stair shot.
The Queen’s House was designed and delivered for Queen Anne of Denmark, wife of James I of England and Scotland by Inigo Jones, Britain’s most influential architects of the 17th century. Anne died of tuberculosis before it was completed and work stopped immediately. I resumed more than a decade later, by which time James was also dead.
The stairs were the first in Britain to be built in this self-supporting style, each step supported only by the stair below and the stairwell itself.

Photography Tips
A zoom between 24 and 35mm FF is more than enough, wider will include too much unnecessary details. Lots of compositions are possible, HDR can help, but there will never be detail in the middle because it's opaque glass.
There are a few issues with the site, namely the attendants' dislike of tripods, the relatively low light even on a sunny day, and the number of people passing through. The 12mm shot (from Edward) was from a camera on the ground, facing up with a 2-second delay.

Use public transport to get there. Cutty Sark station on the DLR is nearby, or use the bus from the city and walk through the foot tunnel. The stairs are in Queen's House, which is beside the National Maritime Museum.
