United Kingdom Clywedog Reservoir Viewpoint
The Clywedog Reservoir was created by the construction of a dam to control the flow of water from the UK's largest river, the River Severn. There are sweeping 180 degree views but the dam itself is not visible from this spot.
Photography Tips
The view is predominantly south so light is harsh in the middle of the day if it is sunny (but it rains a lot in Wales!) But a good sunrise location with cross-lighting coming from the east.
Travel Information
This location is just a few miles south of the the southern boundary of Snowdonia National Park so it's an easy detour to reach on your way in/out of that very photogenic region. Very easy access with a car park right next to the viewpoint.
