United Kingdom Side view II of Eilean Donan Castle, Scotland
Eilean Donan Castle might be the most famous castle in Scotland and the most popular attraction in the Highlands. It is located where three lochs meet (Loch Duich, Loch Long and Loch Alsh) on a promontory which becomes a small island at high tide and is connected to the mainland with a nice bridge. The castle is dated back to 1220 and was rebuilt between 1919 and 1932.
The castle can be visited. For more information visit: http://www.eileandonancastle.com/

Photography Tips
You should carry a tripod, ND filters and a polarizer to avoid reflections for stunning long exposures. Make sure that there is a high tide for nice effects with the water.
A wide-angle lens is also highly recommended.
Visit this spot in the evening hours when all the tourists have left and the castle is closed!
