The Llyn Idwal is situated right in the heart of Snowdonia Nationalpark on a plateau above the famous Llyn Ogwen. Along the hike around the lake and up the surrounding mountains, you will find several viewpoints to stop at.

Photography Tips

Sunrise is the best timing to go there for photography since during the day there might be a lot of people all around. Make sure to take the lake as your centerpiece of the photo and build your composition around it. It's especially important to work with leading lines because you will find many objects in your frame.

Travel Information

Parking is down at the Ideal Cottage / National Trust. It is not free of charge and your license plate number will be checked automatically. So please get yourself a valid ticket. The hike uo the viewpoint takes you around 1 hour. It's a well marked and easy accessible trail.
