United Kingdom Steall Falls

The Steall Falls are the second-highest waterfalls in Scotland. But not the waterfall alone is stunning and makes this place worth visiting, the whole walk itself is a great experience to get in touch with Scotland's beautiful nature.
This place has also been a location for the movie "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire".

Photography Tips

You should carry a tripod, ND filters and a polarizer to avoid reflections for stunning long exposures.
A standard zoom lens like 24-70mm and a wide-angle lens like 16-35mm are recommended to get different picture styles.

Travel Information

You should travel from Fort William by car and drive to the very end of the road up Glen Nevis. The last part of the road is a single-track road and seems to lead into nowhere, but keep on until you reach a small car park (which is free of charge). This is the starting point for your walk.
The walk itself covers around 4 km of distance, takes about 2 hours and is quite rough. You should wear proper footwear to cross small waterfalls and wet stones as well as a backpack with some drinks and food.
This place has a lot of interesting things to explore so you should think about staying there for a few hours.

Thanks David, 10 years ago I missed this shot because I parked in the lower falls car park and didn't realise there was a 2nd one. If only this site had been around back then!
