United Kingdom Elgol Beach
Elgol is the perfect place to shoot seascapes, no matter what weather conditions is there. Standing on the rocky beach you look at the Cullin mountain scenery which is beautiful glowing when the sun rises.
Elgol is a small village in the South of Skye near the end of the Strathaird peninsula. Located on the shores of Loch Scavaig, Elgol offers unmatched views of the Black Cuillin range looking north across the loch. On the beach, interesting rock formations abound and provide a fertile playground for landscape photographers. I enjoyed composing this image and playing with some of my ND filters and long-exposure techniques. This place is a must for any photographers planning a trip to the Isle of Skye!

Photography Tips
The beach would be ideal for sunrise or sunset but owing to the near-constant cloud cover on Skye midday photos can turn out great also. This image was taken in the early afternoon.

Park up at the Elgol Village Hall and walk down to the beach. The hall has a small cafe/gift shop and bathroom.
