United Kingdom Corfe Castle at Sunrise
Corfe Castle is a fortification standing above the village of the same name on the Isle of Purbeck in the English county of Dorset. Built by William the Conqueror, the castle dates back to the 11th century and commands a gap in the Purbeck Hills on the route between Wareham and Swanage.
Photography Tips
For the position of the sunrise/sunset (great for both) use the photographers ephemeris. The castle is located atop a hill. There are 2 other hills located east and west of the castle which makes it perfect for both sunrise/sunsets. The area is prone to mist early morning which makes this a magical location.
Travel Information
Parking is available for a small fee at the National Trust car park. I would suggest checking out the location for your shoot beforehand. The walk up the hill is steep and for a sunrise shot it will be dark....take a torch. There is no problem with access as this is National Trust Land.
